Bradford’s Inspirational Woman Awards 2020 is back!

After a fiver year gap Bradford’s Inspirational Woman Awards is back and it’s expected to be the grandest yet.

Celebrating women from all walks of life, from all bakcgrounds, this is your opportunity to help support our fight for equality, but also to celebrate the many unsung heroines in the city.

BIWA was established by Fatima Patel in 2012, to recognise the achievements of our many unsung heroines. Fatima is the editor of local newspaper Asian Sunday and it was through her work that she realised that women were a little shy about showcasing their amazing talents and achievements. She therefore, wanted to create a platform to showcase inspirational women with a view to inspiring and aspiring the next generation and set about to establish BIWA using her own funds and support from local business owners.

The owners became hugely successful, but due to Fatima’s hospitalisation and long term ill health, she was unable to continue with the awards and they discontinued after 2015.

Nevertheless, the engagement from women continued, and along with this came support and communtiy work, which then established BIWA into a foundation, which now supports women on a range of issues.

The awards are now returning in October 2020 and will be celebrated every year to showcase Bradford’s hugely talented women.

This years awards takes place at the Bradford Hotel, Hall Ings, Bradford on Saturday 3rd October 2020
